The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development Program (QA & CPD) includes the promotion of GP participation in effective and efficient quality assurance and continuing professional development by encouraging and identifying high quality activities for GPs.

Activity description

Our expert panel of psychiatrists’ and an addiction specialist will lead a discussion around the critical issues in a series of cases on Anxiety Disorders; Depression; Drug and Alcohol Addiction and High Prevalence Disorders (anxiety and depression). Our expert panel will demonstrate ways to form a comprehensive assessment of a patient presenting with mental health concerns and examine assessment tools, resources, discuss ways to engage the patient's in a primary care setting.

Learning Outcomes

  1. GP's will be able to explain the pathophysiology underling pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse & urinary incontinence & prolapse.
  2. GP's will be able to describe the current conservative and surgical treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction.
  3. GP's will be able to describe the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea due to adenomyosis & uterine fibroids.
  4. *GP's will be able to develop a comprehensive management plan of abnormal uterine bleeding.
  5. GP's will be able to describe uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) as a non-surgical treatment option for fibroids.
